Nearly summer...

Ok, so I'm setting myself a bit of a 'photo a day' challenge. The best way to stay on top of your photography skills is to just get out there and shoot anything and everything. A lot of us restrict ourselves to our preferred genre but I think that's how you can stagnate. So, here's today's little session: flowers at sunset in New Farm Park.

Storm

Brisbane's first electrical storm of the summer today. What a doozy! I managed to get these two shots before fear of lightning strike sent me literally running for cover. Then, the tin roof right next door got struck by lightning while I was standing there. Nuts! And then it was all over in about 20 minutes.

The Graveyard

Who says cemetery photography has to be gothic?

Spring

Spring in Brisbane. This is what it looks like, folks. What a time for me to pick up my camera and dust if off after a spending the last year or so on the political campaign trail. That's over until 2016 so I'm back to doing what I love for a while: but that's not to say I don't like trying to change the world if given the chance. Watch this space: I've got plenty of new, fresh ideas and I think my photography has actually benefitted from the break.
